Wishing away my time
Hoping the future is near
Living for tomorrow
But missing the day I'm here
Forgetting I might not see it
If I look ahead too quickly
Focusing on the moment
Before it leaves ever so swiftly
The time is now, the day has come
For this is yesterday's tomorrow
If I spend what I'm given it can't be undone
No, the past can never be borrowed
In front of my eyes I see what's so easy
To miss while you're wishin' and hopin'
It's the present, a gift you're given so freely
But one that tends to go unopened
