Come Into the Light
January 24, 1996

Come into the light, for I cannot see your face
And your image I have seen unclearly
I know you’re there, but my eyes are blind
From the others who have deceived me

A candle once burned deep within my heart
And you were the shadows upon its walls
But the lurid warmth has been extinguished once again
And now I can’t see you at all

I had thought I’d found you - my heart was so sure
For this person fit the silhouette of you
But it couldn’t have been - my heart was broken
Oh why won’t you come to my rescue?

The eyes of Heaven look down upon me
They’ll send you when it’s the right time to
But when they do, how will I know
What if I happen to overlook you?

This person I found - was it really you?
Are we just temporarily apart?
Is this just to strengthen our love?
Do you also have a broken heart?

Come into the light: I need you now
I need your loving arms around me
But I needn’t worry; I’ll find you someday
For you are my fate and my destiny
